For those of you that have been around in the Joomla world a while the name Igor Dutra may mean something. He is the one who was involved in the Porsche Brazil website back when Joomla was still called Mambo. The site has been re-worked several times but still Joomla is used as the CMS of choice. There are many more websites Igor developed or supported with his wide knowledge about usability and communication.
We are very honoured to announce that Igor has agreed to become a key note speaker at J and Beyond and provide a unique opportunity to talk about the past and future of the web, the Joomla technology and much more.
Igor Dutra, User Experience Architect
Igor has been involved in the digital world since the Bulletin Board Systems (BBS) back in 1990 and in 1998, he started his own digital agency in Brazil. Since then, much of his focus has been on improving the user experience for a range of organisations from SMEs to well known names such as the United Nations, Porsche Brazil, Volkswagen, Philips, Exxon, SCA, Shell and many others.
He is preoccupied with technology and how it can help to shape and improve people’s lives. As the user advocate in the design process, he believes that the best web solutions come from a better understanding of the end users.
His involvement with Mambo dates back to 2003 when he joined the community and started to develop his first projects using open source tools. In 2004 he led the team who built Porsche Brazil's website (in Mambo) and in 2006 (using Joomla). He was a speaker at both the first Joomladay UK and Joomladay Brazil.
In addition to his BA on Marketing and Advertising, Igor has an MSc in Interactive Technologies for e-Commerce from Napier University, Edinburgh. Currently he lives in London and works for Likemind, a corporate communications agency.
